A lovely couple with a tragic end that gives birth to a renewed hope. We wouldn't have the twins, Luke and Leia if it wasn't for their union.

Poor Ani turned to the dark side in his misguided attempts to save Padme. Ani never foresaw in his visions that it was he who kills her not just with the force choke but also with the betrayal of the Republic and the Jedis.

"There is still good in him," Padme's words before death, leaving hope for Ani's redemption and a final balance to the Force.

Leia + Han

The Princess and the Scoundrel meet for the first time during her rescue in the Death Star, their love sparks up after escaping Imperial destroyers attacking the Rebel base on the planet Hoth. The relationship matures when Leia rescues Han from Jabba's Palace. In the novels, Leia and Han eventually marry and have kids.

Mara + Luke

High assassin for the Emperor, as the Emperor's Hand, Mara carried out his orders with skill and efficiency, after Palpatine's death Mara turned to a life of smuggling. She bided her time, plotting to kill Luke for the death of the Emperor but Luke explains to her what happened in the Death Star that it was Vader who killed Palpatine. They bump into each other on numerous adventures in the novels. Forced to team up in tight spots realizing how well they work together, their love blooms and eventually they marry.
